Climbing the Steps to Leadership

As told by HRC Columbus Membership & Community Events Co-Chair Candace DiGirolamo:

The HRC Volunteer Leadership Institute is an amazing program that gives HRC volunteers a chance to discuss best practices and review challenges they may be facing locally in their communities. Folks traveled from all over the U.S. to participate in this one-day, interactive training.

Along with meeting HRC volunteers from other areas geographically, participants were able to share their knowledge and experience with one another, as participants ranged from new HRC volunteers to seasoned veterans who are steering committee members and Board of Governors.

I found the training to be quite informative and educational. I was able to leave DC with renewed energy, plenty of new ideas and great resources that I found in other participants from all over the country. The staff put together a top-notch training program that will be taken back to local steering committees to essentially energize entire communities.

Having participated in this program two years ago in Chicago, I am pleased that the content was fresh, updated and relevant to the events going on today within our country and our community.
