Community Engagement
Our Community Engagement team works to build relationships with organizations throughout the LGBTQ community in Central Ohio.
HRC Columbus's Community Engagement team focuses on building the capacity of the LGBTQ community in Central Ohio and strengthening connections across all aspects of our community. This includes supporting other organizations in events, planning events, providing workshops, and opening up networking opportunities.
Our four focus areas are:
- LGBTQ Organizations - We partner with LGBTQ organizations (those run by LGBTQ people for LGBTQ people) for community initiatives, organizational support, and events.
- Faith Community - HRC Columbus has a long history of working with churches and other faith organizations that are affirming of LGBTQ people.
- Education Community - HRC Columbus works to support schools and educators that are working with or supportive of LGBTQ youth, often in conjunction with resources from HRC's Welcoming Schools initiative.
- Corporate community - HRC has long been a leader in working with the corporate community through our Corporate Equality Index, and HRC Columbus supports that with relationships with local companies and employee resource groups.
