HRC Columbus 2023 Awardees

Hailie Sahar, Visibility Awardee

HRC is thrilled to honor Hailie Sahar with the Visibility Award at the 2023 Columbus Dinner! Hailie is an award-winning actor, singer, writer, director, and producer. She is best known for her history-making role as Lulu, mother of the House of Ferocity on Ryan Murphy’s groundbreaking FX series Pose. Hailie has overcome many challenges as a trans woman and excelled in her career. She has been crowned as “Miss L.A. Pride” and “Queen U.S.A.” as well as receiving numerous media features and honors, including being named one of People Magazine’s Most Beautiful People in 2020.

Khris Goins, Equality Awardee

HRC is thrilled to honor Khris Goins with the Equality Award at the 2023 Columbus Dinner! Khris, a father, husband, entrepreneur, United States Army veteran, and now advocate, in the midst of the 2020 pandemic, founded the Men-Of-Morphisus Foundation also known as, Black Transmen of Ohio, or BTMOhio. BTMOhio mission is to increase the visibility and equity of the black transmasculine individual through community building, mentorship, and providing access to resources in the state of Ohio. BTMOhio provides a bi-weekly support group for transmen of color, complimentary gender affirming after surgery kits, emergency HRT supplies and at-home hair clippers.

Columbus Museum of Art, Community Leadership Awardee

HRC is thrilled to honor the Columbus Museum of Art with the Community Leadership Award at the 2023 Columbus Dinner! The Columbus Museum of Art is a leader in Columbus and nationally in its support and empowerment of the LGBTQ+ community. CMA launched its Loud & Proud membership program in 2019, providing a way for the LGBTQ+ community to connect with the arts in Columbus. A year later, it co-created the national exhibit Art After Stonewall, 1969-1989, to focus on openly LGBTQ+ artists. The museum has ardently supported the LGBTQ+ community in Columbus through gifts and vocal support.

K Terry Smith

K Terry Smith is a marketing professional, currently leading the marketing strategy for several new products within Nationwide’s innovation portfolio. K also works to progress the growth of Olly Awake, which rejects the oppressive gender binary and intentionally designs apparel to be gender equal, high-quality, and produced ethically in the USA using sustainable textiles.

K has a passion for the LGBTQ+ community and the advancement of Columbus as a creative hub and has served on the boards of several LGBTQ groups. They live downtown in Columbus with a plant they are desperately trying to keep alive and are an avid lover of art and design, film … and a good Manhattan.

Lucy Little

Lucy Little is an accounting and Human Resources professional, currently serving as a payroll specialist for Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams. A member of the National Board of Governors of the Human Rights Campaign, Lucy is a dynamic leader who effectively produces results and drives change.

She has a passion for building bridges within Central Ohio and exploring the intersections of LGBTQ people with other aspects of the community.
